Why We Started Writing This

Brindlewood began after one of our founders spent a week trying to find a straight answer about a rescue dog's behaviour, and found only rewritten lists with no named source in sight. The idea was small: write down what you actually see, name where the rest comes from, and say so clearly.

We now work with a small group of keepers, vets and long-time writers who send in field notes before they send in drafts. A second editor reads every piece against its sources before it goes anywhere near the site.

Nothing here is written to sell anything. We answer reader questions directly, mark our corrections in the open, and keep the list of who funds the site visible at all times.

We write only what we can check ourselves. Every article carries a name, a source and a date.
